"The True Samurai: -Ryuukiden: Kusunoki Masashige and Hisako", a free, all-English musical, will be performed in Kobe. Masashige Kusunoki was a military commander who led 500 men to defeat the 200,000-strong Kamakura Shogunate.

The venue for the performance on Thursday, September 5 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. is Sannomiya Platz. Sannomiya Platz is a park located about a 5-minute walk from Sannomiya Station in the center of Kobe City, and is rented out by Kobe City for street performances.https://platz-kobe.com/

The musical will be performed by the all-male musical theater troupe "Musical Buddies," and the female roles will also be played by men. All songs and dialogues are original and performed entirely in English.https://musicalbuddies.com/

Musical Buddies will present this musical in Japanese and English on September 23 (Monday, substitute holiday) at Minatogawa Shrine, a large temple in Kobe dedicated to Masanari Kusunoki. Admission to the english performance at Minatogawa Shrine is free(Japanese performance admission is 1000yen).

All are free of charge and admission is free. It is very rare for an English-language musical about Japanese history to be presented free of charge, so please come and see it.
